The Lodge: El Sabanero Eco Lodge was built in 2004 using all local material. Construction time was about 18 months and it was opened in 2005 to cater to nature seekers giving them a home away from home. A private escape cloaked in serenity and embraced by natural beauty, a unique place for those with a passion for authentic experiences. The lodge is conveniently positioned just 10 minutes away from Hacienda Pinilla’s golf course and 15 minutes away from world-class surf beaches such as Avellanas, Negra, Tamarindo and Langosta!
In 2012, Jamie Kalynuik, owner of Torontoyogamamas visited us for the first time and fell in love with El Sabanero as a Yoga retreat.
Being herself a certified prenatal and postnatal yoga instructor she welcomed the peace and serenity of El Sabanero.
The result: In 2015 we had over 180 days of Yoga teacher Training and Yoga retreats bookings.
Amit Shauli:
Yoga transformed Amit´s life. It helped him get the balance he needs between his mind, body and soul. He chooses to practice yoga as a lifestyle both on and off the mat as it is the foundation of his everyday life. He believes yoga provides a consistent source of positive energy through all of life’s ups and downs, and he aspires to share his passion with others.
Amit completed his teacher training in Toronto with 3 yogi brothers from India. The training took part in an accessible, non-competitive, and non-judgmental environment, and he maintains the same approach in his class. In his teaching Amit is always committed to empowering and equipping yogis with tools that can help them live a better life.
He moved to Costa Rica from Toronto to experience a simpler life, be closer to nature, and teach yoga for a living. He finds yoga teaching both uplifting and humbling experience as it pushes his limits and challenges him physically, mentally, and spiritually.
